MOLO17 is proud to announce the release of Gluesync 2.2. Following former [2.1 series update](https://molo17.com/blog/gluesync-2-1-update/), this release fundamentally changes how agents connect to the **Core Hub**, bringing massive performance optimizations, reduced resource consumption and expanded scalability for modern enterprise workloads.

Following our iterative agile approach to data integration, Gluesync 2.2 marks a significant leap forward in reliability and ease of use, ensuring your data pipelines can scale effortlessly under heavy scenarios.

## A new plugin-based agent architecture

The headline feature of the 2.2 release is a major architectural overhaul: the shift from a WebSocket-based connection to a **brand-new plugin-based system for agents**. This transition makes it significantly easier to manage and scale your data integration platform. While the agent deployment user experience you love remains unchanged, the underlying engine is now **faster, more reliable and highly scalable**.

Furthermore, the upgrade process is completely seamless: our in-platform orchestrator, **Conductor**, automatically handles the migration, decommissioning legacy 2.1 agents and cleaning up your environment once the upgrade is complete.

## Maximized performance and streamlined deployment

To meet the demands of massive enterprise datasets, Gluesync 2.2 introduces core performance improvements aimed at optimization. The platform now operates with significantly **less memory usage** and delivers **faster processing times** across the board.

Additionally, we have worked hard to make the installation process as smooth as possible for on-premise and Windows-based environments by introducing a new **Windows Server MSI installer**. This makes deploying and running Gluesync on Windows Server easier and more standardized than ever before.

## Module updates and targeted enhancements

Gluesync 2.2 brings essential updates across our modular ecosystem and agent lineup:

- **modules compatibility:** Conductor has been updated to version 0.7 and Automator to version 1.4, ensuring full support and enhanced stability for the 2.2 architecture.
- **agent refinements:** this release includes targeted fixes and enhancements for the Informix and Azure Data Lake Storage agents.
- **UI improvements:** we’ve implemented minor bug fixes, including resolving a UI crash scenario when changing field data types during new table creation (GSSD-699).

## Looking ahead: the 2.2 roadmap

Version 2.2.0 lays a powerful foundation for the future. In upcoming 2.2.x releases, we will be gradually rolling out highly anticipated features, including:

- a new, highly responsive React-based frontend.
- enhanced security features, including user realm management and OIDC client authentication.
- pipeline reusable functions (reusable across multiple entities).
- third-party APIs for seamless integration with other systems as targets.
- enhanced monitoring and observability with new metrics and dashboards.

## **Why Gluesync 2.2?**

Gluesync 2.2 provides the architectural flexibility required to **overcome data gravity**. By optimizing the core engine and introducing a robust plugin-based architecture, this release provides the reliability and speed necessary for modern digital transformation.
